Bone Bags - All Sold
Bone bags are leather bags that are used to house a number of objects used for the divination technique called "throwing the bones". I sent the Cheetah and Hands Bone bags back to Africa as gifts to my teachers, Mr. P.H. Mtshali and Mr. Mamba.
Bone bags measure 6-inches tall by 5-inches wide by 2 1/2-inches deep. These bags are made out of tanned buffalo hide, the button used for the closure is a slice of deer antler, and the lacing is deer hide.
Bags this size can serve other purposes and I can make them from elk or deer, as well as buffalo hide. Beaded images are optional.
Each of these bags sold for $350.00. Without the beading, the cost would be $150.00. The strap adds approximately $50.00, depending on the length.
